Lets face it, PS4 will probably be released before this decade is over and I think it's pretty reasonable to believe that Sony will probably announce SOMETHING about it sometime between this year till 2015.
I would love to see some of these features being implemented into the PS4 console:
1) I always liked the PS1 & PS2's memory card save features because it can allow you to copy your save files onto it and easily use it on another PS2 console. Making the PS3 do that isn't exactly easy because Sony never officially design it to allow that. It's a shame really because I could already come with a few moments when that function was needed.
2) Minimize the Installation and huge files it requires. I always felt one of the biggest fail that the PS3 had was that many of the games requires you to install it and it always takes up quite a lot of space, often times between 1.5GB to 5GB or so is required to install the games. Some PS3 games doesn't necessarily requires that much but many does though. I always felt that was a big disadvantages of owning a PS3 because it continuously makes me feel like I need a bigger hard drive unless if I wanted to delete something.
3) Allow the playbacks of PS2 discs. Granted, more and more PS2 games are being released for HD's either at Gamestops or PSN, but there's just something about playing the old versions that brings back the nostalgic feelings more efficiently.
4) Every single games being able to be upscaled up to a full 1080i or 1080p HD. I know that graphics aren't everything, but since many of the consumers wants improved graphics nowadays for their games, I believe that's one of the obvious things to do.
5) Console that's capable of reading CD's and DVD's from all regions. I gotten my PS3 from someone I knew after she brought it over from Hong Kong and the region thing was in place, preventing me from playing the PS2 games I had.
6) Better internet experience. The web browser for the PS3 and PSP was pretty crappy to say the least, or to me it was.
7) Reasonable price. Back when the PS3 came out, the price was like $600 or $700 after taxes. I knew it was still one of the most desirable devices back then, but it was still too damn expensive for it. So I believe the PS4 shouldn't cross the $400 after the taxes in order to make it more reasonable.

1. Party Chat. I LOVE this feature on Xbox and it's a shame that I can't use it on my PS3. Being able to talk to friends even if they are in another game is incredibly useful.
2. An upgraded browser. They should give us a decent browser in the PS4, or at least give us the option to install Chrome or FF or whatever.
3. A reasonable price. I don't really mind blowing $900 on a game console (I did with the PS3) but I'd much rather spend less than $400.
4. USB 3.0 ports.
5. A better control. The DualShock design just doesn't cut it anymore. I like my controllers heavy, durable and responsive.
6. Wireless controller charging. Who wouldn't want to be able to just drop their controller on a little pad and have it charge?
That's about it.

Playstation 4 has PC like architecture and will make games development easier, but how ?

Playstation 3 had the cell processor and developpers complained that game developement is hard. What makes it so hard ? And why the playstation 4 will make game developers lifes easier ? Does this mean that really good games wont need 2-3 years like it took for the ps3 to develop ?? Thank you
